Winner Takes It All!

Sweden Serves Up the Goods: Meet the 2026 Swedish Street Food Champions 🇸🇪🏆

Huge congratulations to this year’s winners of the Swedish Street Food Awards at Cantin, Malmö’s brilliantly creative street food container park. If you’ve never been, imagine rows of shipping containers packed with extraordinary food instead of freight. It’s in the same city that hosted the European Street Food Awards finals a few years ago — and after seeing this year’s talent, we can’t wait to go back.

🥇 Swedish Champion: Nennas Food Truck

For the second year running, Nennas Food Truck has taken the Swedish title with a Lángos that is anything but ordinary.

Their winning creation featured wild herb pesto, Västerbotten cheese, porcini mushroom cream, smoked and dried elk heart, pickled mustard seeds, blueberry balsamic and freeze-dried lingonberries. It’s a dish that somehow manages to be deeply Swedish, unmistakably Hungarian, and completely unforgettable.

The truck itself has had quite the career change — it was once a mobile library. Now it serves organic sourdough Lángos, giving the Hungarian classic a distinctly Nordic makeover. Long-fermented sourdough, carefully sourced organic Swedish ingredients, and a philosophy built on respect for nature have made Helena and her team one of the most exciting names in European street food.

As Helena puts it: “Take what nature gives us, treat it with respect, and transform it into outstanding street food that tells a story of place, craft, and passion.”

After winning Best Dessert at last year’s European finals, another Swedish title proves this is no one-hit wonder.

❤️ People’s Choice Award: Traveling Taco

The public fell in love with Traveling Taco, and it’s not hard to see why.

Owner Oscar Gobec trained as a car mechanic before following the call of the kitchen instead. One bite of his Birria Tacos – slow-cooked beef is gently braised in a rich broth of chillies, tomatoes and spices until it’s meltingly tender, then tucked into tacos – and you’ll agree he downed the right tools.

If this year’s Swedish finals are anything to go by, the road to the European Street Food Awards finals is going to be delicious.
