Switzerland’s street food elite rolled up their sleeves, fired up their grills, and battled it out in 30-degree heat for the grand final of the 2026 Swiss Street Food Awards in Basel. Ten finalists from across German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland, and Ticino earned their place in the showdown, all chasing the coveted Pan trophy – and the title of Switzerland’s best street food operator.

🏆 Best of Switzerland 2026: Borderless Kitchen

The biggest prize of the night went to Borderless Kitchen, which proved that great food knows no boundaries. After already scooping both the Jury Award and People’s Choice Award in the German-speaking Switzerland pre-final, the team continued its winning streak at the national final to claim the ultimate crown: Best of Switzerland 2026.

👨‍🍳 Jury Award 2026: Food Explorer

The professional jury’s top honours went to Ticino favourite Food Explorer. Their standout steak sandwich packed enough flavour to impress judges at both the regional competition and the national final, earning them the Jury Award 2026.

❤️ People’s Choice Award: Don Curry

When it comes to winning hearts (and appetites), Don Curry remains a crowd favourite. Alexander and Annette once again captured the public vote, adding the People’s Choice Award 2026 to an already impressive collection after previous audience-award victories in 2022 and 2024.

Now in its fifth year, the Swiss Street Food Awards are no longer just a local success story. Following Jaybees’ historic victory at the European Street Food Awards in 2025, Switzerland celebrated its first-ever overall European champion — a milestone that highlights the growing reputation of Swiss street food on the international stage.

From steak sandwiches and curries to boundary-breaking concepts, one thing is clear: Switzerland’s street food scene is serving up much more than meals — it’s serving up champions. 🍔🌮🏆
