The Final Countdown
The biggest food fight in the world is coming to Germany. And Munich, the home of the world’s best beer festival, will be hosts. All summer long, countries across Europe have been hosting their own national awards. On October 10-12, the winners are coming to Germany to battle it out at the FINALS of the European Street Food Awards 2025 – and win the right to be called European champion.
The national champions will be driving to Germany from all over the continent. Whether it’s barbecue bosses from Bulgaria, gelato geniuses from Georgia or flan fans from Finland, the public will get to try Europe’s very best street food all in one place. And then vote for their winner, announced on the Sunday. The prize? One HUGE trophy. Oh, a lifetime of bragging rights.
Gearing up to be the most exciting event on the street food calendar, the massive street food party at Munich’s Pineapple Park will feature a prestigious judging panel, plus guest DJs, brilliant bars and the usual Munich vibes in the late summer sunshine.
“We’re really excited that the ESFAs are back in Munich” says Nathalie Harbig from event organisers tat&drang GmbH. “As pioneers of the street food revolution we love to recognise and celebrate these talented young chefs, and the ESFAs gives us access to the very best that’s out there.”
Our judging panel will include influencers, critics and top German chefs. Working their way through the street food specials at Pineapple Park this year – and choosing the European champions – will be Lukas Adebahr, head chef at the Michelin-starred farm-to-table restaurant 1804 Hirschau, and Josh Covington, a founding member of the two Michelin-star Tohru in the Schreiberei.
“Street food is taking over the world” says Richard Johnson, founder of the European Street Food Awards. “And that’s because we are choosing to eat in different ways. We don’t want a fixed starter-main course-dessert menu any more – we want a bit of this and a bit of that. It’s flirty, low-commitment dining, and it’s why pop-ups and street food have become so popular. Street food is making the world a much nicer place to be.”

About the European Street Food Awards
Launched by the team behind the British Street Food Awards, the European Street Food Awards were established in 2017 to recognise the best of the new food heroes selling food on our streets. It began with six countries, but 2025 will see more than 15 countries competing to be crowned the Best in Europe. In 2026, the first Champion of the USA Street Food Awards will be crowned, with plans to launch continental competitions as soon as possible.
