Eataly!

Once again, the Tuscans of Porcobrado have been voted best food truck in Italy. The umpteenth (re)confirmation took place – in the sunshine – in Padenghe sul Garda, in front of 6,000 people in just four days. For the record, the final verdict came on Sunday 5 June – at the end of four days of Eatinero’s flavours on the road, independent live music and relaxation in the open air – by a jury of experts composed, among others, by the city councillor Mauro Moretti and the street chef Marcello Ferrarini, presenter of “Gluten free with taste” on the Gambero Rosso Channel.

The winning sandwich was a riot of Tuscan flavours, stuffed with Cinta Senese and Grigio Chianino meat, all from Porcobrado’s own farms in Cortona, where the pigs grow in the wild. One of the specialties with which (once again) Porcobrado impressed the jury was the pork shoulder, lightly smoked with cherry wood, served in homemade bread made with ancient Verna wheat.

A total of ten food trucks were competing this year, from all over the Italian peninsula – and all part of Eatinero, the long-term ESFA partner and the leading platform for booking food trucks for events in Italy. In addition to Porcobrado, also competing were Lo Scarrozzino, Perfect Comics (winners of the People’s Choice last year), Ditta Eredi Nigro, Van Ver Burger, Bbq Chianina Station, Basulon, Philbar Barbecue, Retro’datati, Zanco Gourmet and Ninominka.

The final results were as follows: in second place the guys from Van Ver Burger, an itinerant plant-based kitchen specializing in plant-based burgers, followed by Zanco (excellent products from the Vicenza area), Basulon (burgers from Lodigiano) and Philbar Barbecue (meat cooked with a smoker in full American style). See you in Munich!
